Surf City Meet

Hannah had a competition in Costa Mesa January 31

and February 1st. When we flew in, the weather was

great - about 75 degrees. We drove to Newport Beach

after we flew in and got some lunch and walked the

pier and the beach.


Hannah is ready to compete. She gave her dad

the kissy face.


Here are the girls being introduced. We found out

later that the girls next to ours (in the white leos)

are from a gym in California, and most of them are

on the A team for TOPS. You have to try out for

this team and then you are invited in December

to work out for a week at the Bella Karoyli Camp

in Texas. They were amazing!

Hannah started out on floor and was really tight

and hit all of her tumbling passes. She received

a 9.0.

Here is one of Hannah's vaults. It looks pretty

good from here - she received an 8.65.

I thought her bars looked really good, but the judges

only gave her a 8.85 - which is still pretty good.

Hannah fell on her back tuck and was mad at

herself. She received an 8.575. Hannah didn't

place on any event or in the All-Around, even

with a 35.075, but it was fun to see the out-of-state
competition.
