Scega Meet

Hannah had a meet in
Aliso Viejo on
Saturday night.
We flew into John
Wayne late Friday
night.
I was trying to
get a picture while
Kevin was getting
the rental car, but
it was pretty dark
and I didn't get a
good one of John
Wayne himself.

Saturday we had lots of
time to kill because
the meet wasn't until
6:30.  We went to
Fashion Island in
Newport Beach.
It's kind of a
"fancy schmancy"
mall.
Of course we found
Casey's Cupcakes
there.

Casey has been on the
Cupcake Wars and won,
so Hannah was excited
to see it.
It was a cute and pink
little store.

Hannah got a Strawberry
and a Red Velvet cupcake.

The Strawberry had
chunks of strawberries
in the middle and a
meringue frosting.

The Red Velvet was yummy.
It had a cream cheese
buttercream frosting.
Hannah's meet was to start
at 6:30 California time
(which is 7:30 our time).
It didn't end up starting
until 7:30 and ended
at 11:00.
I think Hannah was in
a corner drooling by
the time it was over.
She had some glassy eyes!
Hannah did really well.
It was a tough meet.
Most of the big gyms
that will compete
at Regionals were
there.
Hannah took 8th on vault,
5th on beam, 5th on floor
and 8th All-Around.
She had a solid meet.
We didn't get back to the
hotel until midnight, plus
it was daylight saving,
plus had a flight out
at 7:45 Sunday morning.
It was a whirlwind
weekend - but we had
tons of fun.
